The Trio
The Trio chamber ensemble, consisting of violinist Jiří Vodička, cellist Václav Petr, and pianist Martin Kasík, was founded in the spring of 2020. During its first year, it recorded Josef Suk's Elegy, which was played by more than 100,000 people on the social media of the international radio station Classic FM. The ensemble also created an audiovisual recording of Bohuslav Martinů's Bergerettes trio, which won first place in the International Vienna Music Competition and, thanks to this success, opened the 2021/2022 season with a concert at the Musikverein in Vienna.
All three members of the trio are renowned soloists. Violinist Jiří Vodička has won numerous Czech and international competitions, is a laureate of the Classic Prague Awards, and is a critically acclaimed soloist. Pianist Martin Kasík is the winner of the Prague Spring Competition and Young Concert Artist. He regularly collaborates with leading orchestras and is one of the most prominent Czech musicians. Cellist Václav Petr is also a winner of Prague Spring. He has been performing as a soloist since the age of 12. He is the concertmaster of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra.
