Indi Stivín – double bass, conductor

Indi Stivín is a phenomenon on the contemporary music scene. He is the only double bassist in history to have won the Concertino Praga competition, and through his compositions and performances, he demonstrates that the double bass is not merely an accompanying instrument, but a full-fledged partner with an incredible emotional range.

Collegium Stivinum

A chamber orchestra founded by Indi Stivín, bringing together top-tier young musicians. Their ensemble playing is characterized by extraordinary energy, mutual connection, and a joy of performance that is literally contagious to the audience.

The Story Behind the Concert

This evening is a celebration of creative freedom. You will not only hear works by the old masters—who were among the few to recognize the double bass’s potential as early as the 18th century—but you will also witness the birth of something entirely new. Indi Stivín has composed a unique piece for the 23rd annual Třeboň Nocturnes, which will premiere right here in the historic theater. Be there for the moment when a new chapter in music history is written.
